78 Illegal Stalls Along Jalan Subur Torn Down

As many as 120 Satpol PP officers tore down 78 illegal stalls that built on the Duri Riverbank, Jalan Subur, Duri Pulo Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Monday (2/23). According to the plan, the land would be used for road widening. 

Stall owners are very cooperative so far. Some also tore down their buildings by themselves

It is one of solutions to parse congestion along Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari.

"Stall owners are very cooperative so far. Some also tore down their buildings by themselves. Today, we will tear down the remaining 30 buildings," said Head of Gambir Sub-District, Fauzi. 

Afterwards, Fauzi expressed, the Water Management Sub-Department will normalize the drains and install sheet piles. And it continued with road widening from Bina Marga Sub-Department.

He told it is one of Gambir Sub-District's priority programs. Before those 78 buildings, officers had torn down 450 buildings around Jalan Subur.   

"Some owners already torn down their buildings thus we had no trouble executing other buildings. Afterwards, we dispose the building debris to the Bantar Gebang Landfill," told Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Yadi Rusmayadi.
